I'm new to this site, but not really emulation. I've downloaded the latest version of PCSx2 and looked online for multiple types or configs for emulation etc. For the past couple years I've been playing xbox 360 lol, but I did happen to have a few ps2 games laying around. So I ripped my copy of MGS 2 Sons of Liberty so see if I could play it on my laptop.
System Specs
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
System Model: Dell System Inspiron N7110
Processor: Inter® Core i5-2430M CPU @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs)
(If more info is needed just say so)
Now loading up the game is simple enough (Menus and all work perfect)
When I get to the actual in-game game-play where I can control Snake and all, the FPS drops from about 58-60 down to the 25-35 range. I looked in the config settings and it's set so NTSC Framerate is 59.94 FPS and PAL Framerate is 50.0 FPS. I was wondering why while actually playing the game, it drops so low? I tried another PS2 game I had laying around (GTA 3, a classic) and it works perfectly fine. Could anyone please help me? I'm sick of doing missions in GTA3 lol, I'd like to play MGS
Thank You in advance, because I'm clueless on how to fix this issue
