MGS2: SoL (US) NTSC missing disc

Playing the game just fine for many hours. My game save says I've played 14 hours total....but when I get to the cutscene after I get Emma across the oil gate
I see Snake patching Emma up. Then all of a sudden boom game freezes with the exception of a flashing icon of a disc and a question mark. Which I assume
means the disc has been removed. I can't see how that's the issue seeing how it's on a emulator mounted as an ISO. I've tried loading the game again and again
with no luck...I've even tried doing a save state and load up to it and nothing.

Can somebody help with this?

Please post the emulog.text after you got the problem

I would suggest trying with your disc as it might have been a bad rip.
And if that also fails then post the emulog as it might give us an indication as to what went wrong.

I just tried my physical copy of the game and it's still doing it....this is puzzling.

Messed with the audio settings and it finally worked....although there's some sound distortion.

Using a personal copy, rather than a downloaded copy may help as well.

I'm using the personal copy right now. I'm at the end of the game, but rather than it freezing with an icon it's just freezing.
It freezes at what looks like a live-action video with a guy taking a picture of the Washington statue....essentially the epilogue
and the credits.

Okay this is the emulog after I load the save state which starts at a cutscene ahead , but when it gets to the live-action cutscene it "hangs."
