Do you have a memory card with a save near a movie?

Just start a new game, plenty of codec movies at the start. Then just keep pressing select until you see a purple spot on the lower right corner of the codec screen. From there on, any codec movie will be blacked out.

Is this after you get the controls in the wood?

Yeah it's after the initial cutscenes

Yeah, once you grab your backpack from the tree after the halo jump, there's going to be a crapload of codec movies.

I wanted to be eaten by the crocodiles but just drowned, so far no errors.

Are you using SW mode?

Oh it doesn't there, just wasn't sure you knew what scenes we were talking about I'm trying to replicate the bug DrHycodan described but I still can't.
