What plugins do you use? (that would actually also been written in the emulog)
You should probably use - gsdx-sse4.1 in dx11(hardware)-mode - spu2-x (check the settings here too if you have changed them) - lilypad - gigaherz/linuz for cd/dvd/iso plugin - dev9null - usbnull

Well the emulog is not complete...
You are using an european bios and the fps are set to pal (50 Hz). So you probably use an european/pal version of mgs2? In the compatibility list some of them are mentioned as in-game not as playable. Can you check if your version is one of the playable versions. In any case it would be good to see the emulog after the crash/freezing Edit: There is no difference between SSE4.1 and AVX in hardeware-mode. And I think even in software-mode the difference is only speed-related. Edit2: How do you open the "Image.iso"? Using the internal function or the plugin? I would rather use the internal function (top-menu CDVD -> iso instead of plugin)

EU Substance is green. Ill get a new emulog going.
Update: Nothing changes after the freeze: the last thing the emulog says is (UpdateVSyncRate) FPS Limit Changed : 50.00 fps like the one I originally posted. I use the CDVD way, I dont use a plugin to open the file.

Loading it direct from the DVD didn't work. The emulator didn't seem to detect it and just went to the PS2 homescreen.
