Uninstall and reinstall? I've done that. Does that PPA just not have the executable? The program runs as you can see from the screenshots I took. How does it run without having the executable?

typing PCSX2 on a terminal should open the program if the system doesn't find it, it isn't on the apropriate location, your installation is not correct the ppa works fine is from the coder of PCSX2 for linux you need to remove everything you've done and make a clean installation,

Alright I've purged it.  Just so I make sure I do this absolutely right could you post the exact code I need to enter to make sure I'm not missing a single step?

type again "locate PSCX2" see if anything appears if it doesn't confirm the ppa is instaled and choose the package PCSX2-unstable install, type PCSX2 and the application should open

All of this appears actually, same as before it seems:

HOWEVER it says something a little fishy here.  Maybe this is the reason?

Code:

sudo: unable to resolve host moopy

Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.

I have NOT used 'apt-get autoremove'.  Should I?

on your file manager home folder go to the menu bar--view--show hidden files--go in the folder that shows in your log and delete the PCSX2 folder then install

EDIT: that may also be a problem remove at your own risk there are a lot of packags you may break your system, but as it says that they are now longer required it is problably safe

EDIT2: you should install synaptic package manager is a user interface to the command line apt-get install synaptic it will help you don't need to tupe anything

There are two pcsx2 folders in the '.config' folder and another one in the hidden files menu that's a locked read only folder titled 'pcsx2-read-only'. I can't delete it without special permissions but I can't figure out the right string to put in to delete it as 'rm' isn't working. Do I need to delete that? and do I need to delete the others as well?

type superuser "your file manager name" go to that location and delete

It won't let me remove it using these methods:
Code:
meenpeen@moopy:~$ sudo rm .pcsx2-read-only
sudo: unable to resolve host moopy
rm: cannot remove ‘.pcsx2-read-only’: Is a directory
meenpeen@moopy:~$ sudo rmdir .pcsx2-read-only
sudo: unable to resolve host moopy
rmdir: failed to remove ‘.pcsx2-read-only’: Directory not empty
meenpeen@moopy:~$ sudo rm -rf .pcsx2-read-only
sudo: unable to resolve host moopy
meenpeen@moopy:~$

EDIT: Wait a minute it did!  It's gone.  Okay, so what do I need to enter exactly to make sure this PPA installs correctly?  Like I said I installed this before and it didn't work so I want to make sure I don't miss a beat.  And thanks you're being a great help btw.
