Memory help
So this is probably a noob question but when i try and run final fantasy 12 it says that im out of memory. im Currently running 2gb of ram. I also got a core duo 2.5 GHZ processor is that gunna be enough?
any ways thanks for any suggestions

Maybe you play with an old pcsx2 version?? Try with latest beta in this forum then.

This is the only thing I can think of. PCSX2's ram usage is hovering right around 250MB for me, so unless he has several hundred tabs open in Firefox/IE I doubt he's actually running out of ram.

what is your virtual memory setting?
set it to 'let windows manage' to make it easier for you.

or close other running programs

Most likely causes of Out of Memory errors while trying to boot a game are bad ISO dumps, and also a known bug in 0.9.6 that causes the Iso's ELF loader to fail with an out-of-memory error on certain games (normally FFXII is one that should work, however). Both errors originate from the ELF loader, just that one is fixable by making a proper iso, while the other is only fixable by downloading a beta version of pcsx2 newer than 0.9.6.

so how would i go about making a proper iso?

I use MagicISO to rip my discs. others use different programs but they all end in the same result Smile

CPU :i7 920 @ 4.0GHz 1.25v
RAM :6x2GB 1603MHz 1.64v
