Mercenaries! Freeze on startup
#1
Hey all, First post here Smile I've recently tried to use PCSX2 and play Mercenaries for the first time in along time. Now, I've been watching tutorials all night and I have no conclusion. I launch the game, and it goes straight through all the company logos and all the doo-dads, The little loading video comes up in the bottom right hand corner and loads for about 10-20 seconds then freezes. It is still on a black screen.

I'm not totally sure what any of you would need so, http://gyazo.com/1a3d6e25e2e3bd993e7eeb664954faa5

Anything would be appreciated Smile
I have also gone through all settings to try and figure a way to get around it and nothing has come of it Smile

I see this:

Code:
*** Device 2: 'Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)' (Windows DirectSound)
*** Device 3: 'Realtek Digital Output(Optical) (Realtek High Definition Audio)' (Windows
DirectSound)
*** Device 4: 'Speakers (Razer Surround Audio Controller)' (Windows WASAPI)
*** Device 5: 'Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)' (Windows WASAPI)
*** Device 6: 'Realtek Digital Output(Optical) (Realtek High Definition Audio)' (Windows
WASAPI)
*** Device 7: 'Speakers (Realtek HD Audio output)' (Windows WDM-KS)
*** Device 8: 'SPDIF Out (Realtek HDA SPDIF Optical Out)' (Windows WDM-KS)
*** Device 9: 'SPDIF Out (Realtek HDA SPDIF Out)' (Windows WDM-KS)
*** Device 10: 'Speakers (Razer Surround Audio Controller)' (Windows WDM-KS)
* SPU2-X: PortAudio error: Invalid device

Go to config->audio->plugin settings and change the output module from portaudio to xaudio or directsound and see if that helps.

Wow, never new a sound error would cause something that like not to work Wink

Thank you greatly
But I have one more problem http://gyazo.com/52210f561cc3c92cac83b3da2cd688dc

You need to use software mode.

Go to config -> video -> plugin settings and change extra rendering threads at the bottom to 3.

Then while running the game press F9 to switch. Software mode is very demanding, but this should make the overbloom go away.
