Most stable rev / settings for tales of abyss?
#1
I'm crashing a lot on the PG v1.0.0395, and I haven't found a stable one. I've passed the liger, and I'm about 4 hours into the game. I'm at a castle where a sudden statue comes out and encounters me by surprise from a cut scene and it crashes my game as if I'd ran into the liger. I've disabled the .pnach that supposedly fixes the menu and I still receive the same results. I've tried this on svn 377 as well, and no hope. I've been able to actually fight the statue on the svn 377, however it crashes once I get into the battle results (my effort proved useless). The unique thing is though, I can swap using save states on both clients.

Specs:
AMD Athlon X2 6000+
8600 GT 512 DDR3
2 DDR2 800 MHz
Win XP

Settings - Video
GSdx 872m SSe2 - 1.12
pixel shader 3.0
interlacing:none
alhpa, logarithmic z, and texture filtering are enabled

Settings - CPU
VU Skip is enabled
EERC / IOP -enabled
Vu0rec - enabled
Vu1rec - enabled
Multi thread - enabled

I've read that people finished the game and claimed it as stable. I really want the game working, so can anyone give me a tip or two on which rev or settings I should be using? Thanks.

Uhm, I'm not really sure, but I think it was r457 or r505 where I could finish the entire game without problems.

Try the first (earliest) Playground beta (found on this forum). Or maybe the second one.

563 worked better than 599, however was slower in cut scenes. thanks for the suggestion, it really got me playing again Laugh.

anyways,
563 passed parts where I would crash or hang, so if anyone else is interested in playing, 563 will most likely get you somewhere in ToA.

Yes, please just use the latest beta.
If you still get any crashing then we can look at it.
