My Performance Test Game List for Version 1.0.0
#1
Hello to the forum community, first of all, a belated congratulations for
releasing the 1.0.0 version, after a year and 3 months it's all worth the wait almost all the games I played
have improved a lot! (even on a 2.6 dual core with 1 GB ram) so this is actually an update for my performance test thread, this time for 1.0
This is much more detailed compared from the last one which is located here: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-My-24-hou...with-0-9-8

The results may vary from computer specifications, so this performance test list results are not entirely accurate
it may only serve as a guide or reference for speed performance (especially for Intel Integrated Graphics Users)

Anyway here are my specs and configurations where I did the performance test.

Loptop Systems Specifications:

And here's a list of performance results using the described spec and configuration
the list is veeeeeeeeeeryyy long because it describes performance diffrerence for both hardware and software rendering for each game as well as problems encountered descriptions
if there is a possible fix for games with problems, please share it in order to help other emulator users to enjoy their games even more (especially intel grahic card users)
the main goal of this thread is to let users view game speed in different game sections before testing them (though it might only benefit intel grahic card users since this is the graphics adapter I used for the testing.
and I used Direct 3D9 instead of Direct 3D10 because I read at the readMe file it states that "GSdx DX9 Hardware mode lacks various features that DX10 mode has" so I'm more curious testing it, and could this issue be solved, it
would also benefit Windows XP users to know the updates in terms of performance and speed.

Well enough of my crappy comment, it's just what's in my mind while making this post, on to the performance list, enjoy reading ^_^

1. Sometimes when I toggle between framelimiter enable/disable (F4), games tends to freeze at certain times
2. When I switch between ISO's, Plugin and No Disc in CDVD Options the emulator crashes especially when I manage my saves in the BIOS then switch back to ISO's then the emulator crashes.
3. When I drag the Program log somewhere on the screen and exit the emulator and open the program again, the log window always returns to it's original spot is there a way to maintain it's position on the screen?
I'm also looking at the logs while playing but it's kinda bothersome to move it again each time I open the emulator.
4. Sometimes when I toggle between hardware and software rendering mode the graphics messes up (experienced it in Suikoden IV and Magna Carta)

I still have at least 140 more untested games (total of 250 games), I haven't been able to add them because I don't have enough hard disk space to store my ISO files
and I don't want to run the risk damaging my DVD Drive lens to test the physical discs one by one, I'll just update the list some other time after I bought another external drive to store my ISO'S

despite all the ups and downs of the emulator, the performance of games improves every version, so I can say it's an excellent work! it's far better than 0.9.8
Thanks for reading, and a BIG THANK YOU for keeping this project active and still improving! More power to you guys!

I hate to be that guy, but MTVU probably caused slowdowns because you enabled it on a dual-core CPU (it is meant for 3+ cores).

MTVU is good to Dual cores when it's not the GPU ( GS ) That is bottlenecking you !

when you fell that the game slow due to insufficient GPU power or using SW mode disable it

AND SINCE YOU'RE USING AN INTEL HD2400 that's the problem Glare

because the whole idea of MTVU is to give EE more resources if we need to give GS more resources then it's useless ...

and it would NEVER cause slowdowns if your CPU ( EE ) That is bottlenecking you ! ( unless it have a compatibility issue with that game )

because EE would just have a full single physical core

however HT also give 2-5% increase in MTVU rather than it's off Smile

this Information is based on my experience with an I3 550

Quite a collection you have got. What exactly i3 model do you have? The clock speed is so high (2.6Ghz) for a mobile proccessor. Also, we don't know which model of Intel HD you have 1000, 3000, or 4000?

Wouldn't it better to test these on a desktop? (and with better system specs?)

At least make a recommended standard for system specs. The standard (or middle ground) for PCs is probably around the intel i3 series, 2-4GBs or RAM, and as for GPUs maybe something a bit recent (at least those around for the past 3-4 years?). I'm not very tech heavy, so someone should be able to come up with something better than me.
CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 Quad Core @ 3.6GHz
RAM: 8GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Since you've done all this testing, would be nice if you would contribute to our compatibility list:

Ah, thanks for clearing this up, at first I didn't understand the behavior
by activating the MTVU speedhack, now it seems that not all games supports the hack, like in Phantasy Star Universe, when I played it in the 0.9.9 SVN June 23, 2012 I was amazed by the speed improvement, but when I played it in 1.0 version it lagged a lot and displaying fake fps but when I turned off the MTVU hack, it ran much smoother. but some games
also speed up to full 60 fps using this hack like Suikoden V and Mai Otome
so right now whenever my game lags but displaying full FPS, i disable the MTVU hack first.

hmm that's a very weird behavior MTVU never created False FPS reading for me ...

however high levels of VU cycling will do that a lot !

Finally, I was able to finish Phantasy Star Universe in this version! and it seems the flashlight problems in Silent Hill Origins has been finally fixed! I just set the skipdraw into 2 in the SW hacks in hardware mode setting and played it using software rendering mode and the problem was solved! great job on this one guys!
