NEED HELP

Ive been trying to get my ps2 emulator (pcsx 0.9.7) to work for ever and the fastest i ever get is 50% at the beginning wean the game first starts (DQ8) and wean i start playing it drops all the way down to 10% and i have a pretty new computer not even a year old this is its settings


Processor:AMD Athlon™
Processor 2850e 1.80
GHz

Ram: 3GB (2.75 GB usable)

System Type: 64-bit operating
system

Windows 7 Home premium



I don't know if these are good or bad. But i need help Ive been trying for 3 days to get DQ8 to run at a decent speed but i cant get anything but slowness.BlinkWackoSad

A single core AMD @ 1.8Ghz? In that case, 50% speed is pretty impressive for DQ8!

Seriously, a single core CPU is not going to get you very far with most any PS2 game, especially if it's under 2.0Ghz. And as for Dragon Quest 8, it's a rather GPU heavy game. Depending on your GPU, but I'm guessing (based on your other specs) that the graphics unit in your rig is weak(er) and even native resolution may see limitations.

in gsdx title bar, what do the EE% and GS% say ?

Very normal. Most games will run faster until you get in-game. Strong or weak hardware, it's quite typical.

Sorry to say it, but your PC is very weak for PCSX2. Even if you happen to have a real good GPU, that processor will hold you back. I'm not sure if DQ8 would ever be playable on that rig, but you may find some of these to be more playable.

Why dont people check pcsx2 requirements thread first ? its like the first thread, although it should be common sense that its impossible to run pcsx2 on single core @ 1.8 ghz, cause you cant even run any pc games on cpu like that. maybe some really old pc games

my computer plays lots of pc games perfectly this is the only thing my computer cant run

you can't compare pc games and an emulator it's farther different
except the emulator can compare when your're playing Flash games in facebook at "best quality" or running a MMO private server.

okay than you gave us incorrect pc stats because its impossible to run anything but really old games on single 1.8 ghz. Can u list most demanding pc games you run? and also download cpuz program its free it will give you detail stats about your cpu, gpu and ram, then list them here so we can help you.

i can play a World Of Warcraft without any issues i can play heros of might and magic 5 without any problems Fable just lots of games
