NOOBIE that needs help
#1
Sad
hello guys I have pcsx2 0.9.6 in my pc tryng to get it to work(with a bit of luck) I manage to run a game clled Metal gear solid 3 but the audio was messed up and the gameplay very slow and the codec conesations very BAD, but the cutscence had no problem(the audio was still bad)well the thing is that I got mad andgave up....

After 2 weeks a decided to try again but I frogot the settings that I used, so I started all over again with no luck.Always failing and the emulator closing.I went to the oficial configuration guide and try to follow step by step(NOOBIE)and what I got was an error and it told me to go to the emulog text files for details.This is what the file says:

PCSX2 0.9.6 - compiled on Feb 27 2009
Savestate version: 8b400004
x86Init:
CPU vendor name = GenuineIntel
FamilyID = d
x86Family = Intel® Pentium® Dual CPU E2220 @ 2.40GHz
CPU speed = 2.425 Ghz
Cores = 2 physical [2 logical]
x86PType = Standard OEM
x86Flags = bfebfbff 0000e39d
x86EFlags = 20000000

Features:
Detected MMX
Detected SSE
Detected SSE2
Detected SSE3
Detected SSSE3
Not Detected SSE4.1

when I go to the cpu configuration it says

GenuineIntel
Intel® Pentium® Dual CPU E2220
2437MHZ(CPU speed)
MMX,SSE,SSE2,SSE3,SSSE3

I made changes on the graphics sections and decided to try again and I got a black screen with bad audio but I could recognise MGS3 menu music anyway

I need help to configure the emulator so I can play MGS3 on my pc.Im on windows 7

Try updating your DirectX and try the latest beta, but taking in count your PC specs you may not be able to play the game with enjoyable speeds:

oh thanks I downloaded the direct x but it told me that I already had them, and also downloaded the 0.9.7 pcsx and followed the instructions and this time when I run the game it runs at 50 or 58 fps in the konami logo and the dobly sorround video,but when I get the press start part(where snake is cqc a guy) it drops to 24 to 21 fps.

the sound also hears bad(I think is cuz the video its slow and it hears like that cuz in the dobly surround everything was fine)

I press start it takes me to the new game and stuff and then the fps goes up to 59 50 and everything is fine.I start the game and the part where snake talks of the cold war everything still fine (59 fps) when the cutscene starts with the palne it drops to 15 20 fps.but it goes up to 59 fps in the flashback where zero is telling snake his objectives, when the flashback ends goes down again.In the codec they talk in slow motion and gameplay is slow

What settings do I need to keep those fps up please

i'd say a dual core 3.4 ghz.
MGS3 is one of those very demanding games.

I reckon something other than the Intel G31 you have for GPU would also be necessary.

the speedhacks won't be enough.
what you need is to buy a new CPU
