Need help Pcsx crashing
#1
Background. New to linux, new to trying to diy. My ps2 died so i figured why waste all those games. So I downloaded from the Ubuntu software center, got my bios, riped my games to .iso and followed the directions and saw them work on you tube. I can get the emulator to start with no disk, but the second I try to load the .iso the whole thing crashes before i even try to start the emulator. Total failure. What did I do wrong? Any help would be amazing.

Likely the gl driver is wrongly installed (the 32 bits part)

Did you manage to boot with the sw renderer only?

Sorry for my ignorance but i don't know. i am gonna assume sw is software. is that like booting it from the terminal?

Gsdx plugin settings-> renderer -> opengl(software)

Software means you use your cpu to render the game instead of the gpu (hardware). Sw mode should even work if your gpu driver is broken.

Switched it to sw and it still crashes immediately after i select the .iso. As soon as i click open when selecting the .iso is when it crashes. The Log, the blue logo screen, and the emulator if it is open.

You mean that just the selection of ISO make the emulator crash? Or when you start the game?
