Need help with GOD OF WAR configuration
#1
Recently, i've been trying to play GOW1 on my low end laptop.
i've tried every speed hack, n every other thing in pcsx2 that can speed up the game. max speed i got is 22fps. my system specs.::

IBM
intel core 2 duo T2300
2 gb ram
1.66 ghz
intel 945GM - 128 mb video memory
supports upto SSE3(but not SSSE3)
gpu clock speed 400mhz
DX9c

i know these r quite low specs, but i've seen a post somewhere on net, where some guy gave configuration using which he got 57 fps 'all d time' on an intel machine with 256 mb video memory(integrated intel card) and support for SSSE3.
so just wanted to know if someone with around my laptop specs got the game to work. if so plz help me.

reply even if know the fastest config. 4 d game....... thnx

Did his intel machine happen to be clocked at around 3 Ghz? Because that would explain it Tongue I'm quite sure there is no way for you to get more speed than you are currently getting with this hardware.

These Specs are very weak for this game Tongue2

but

Edit:I don't have GOW but try setting the Clamp mode to none and Round mode to nearest. Try frameskip of constant as your GPU is very weak. Set it to 1, 2 or 2, 2. Smile

Oh Its a Laptop. so you may not get full speed.

three things will make the game near perfect :

1-VU cycling up to 3
2-MTVU ( yeah it will help although you're on dual core )
3- native res

don't worry i think you will get ~45 FPS which is some how playable

enable VU cycling in emulation settings > Speedhacks

same as well as MTVU ( but you will need to download the latest MTVU from here : http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/ )

you can enable native res in Config>Video>plugin settings

i hope this have helped you Smile

don't forget "recommended" speedhacks Wink

My spec:
  • Phenom II X4 N930 @ 2.0 Ghz (pretty weak)
  • Mobility Radeon HD 4570 (weak too)

My settings:
  • EE Cycle Rate: No (that hack does not speed up either game)
  • VU Cycle Stealing: 2 (set it to 3 make the motion noticably less smooth, but if your framerate is too low, do it)
  • Frame skipping: No (perhaps you should use it because your GPU is integrated. Set it to draw 2, skip 1)
  • All recommended speedhacks enabled, including MTVU.

Before the time of MTVU, both games are unplayable (below 30 FPS), but now GoW1 runs runs at 50 -> 60 FPS at 1.5x res, and GoW2 constantly 60 FPS at 2x res. Thanks Cottonvibes for MTVU.
