Needed: Volunteers for Testing PCSX2's Online/LAN play features
#1
I am looking for some volunteers who can help in testing PCSX2's Online/LAN play features. Here are the basic requirements:-

1. Plenty of free time.
2. Some Online/LAN compatible games.
3. Basic knowledge of how to configure PCSX2 for network play.
4. Decent Network connection.

If you think you are up for it please post in this thread along with this info:-

1. List of your Netplay capable games.
2. Ideal time for you to test.
3. Your network connection speed.

I will suggest you to read these two guides first:-

For more info and start with LAN testing you can join Hamachi Channel "pcsx2online" with password "pcsx2online" without quotes.

The dev9 gigaherz plugin worked way back in pcsx2 0.9.6 and 0.9.7 just fine. I know of at least 3 people who used pcsx2 to play EQOA when the servers were still up. If you look in the link in my signature we have a super basic server written that can communicate with the game (ps2 or pcsx2) and get to the character select/creation screens. Heres a video of it working as well

I have both EQOA games and Socom 2 I can help you with any further testing.

I have almost all the online games and I have been testing them ever since we first introduced online play (monster hunter party Smile ). Most of them seem to work okay but I have struggled to find partners to actually check how good/bad they work. Can you please join me on hamachi to further test socom 2? Also I wish you good luck with reviving Everquest.

Basically I want to test if online play works as it should with real PS2. Which games work perfect and can actually be called playable? What are the glitches? How bad is lag? Which games don't work at all and other similar scenarios. I am hoping to make atleast some sort of database having information about netplay compatibility of PCSX2.

I have Network set-up on PCSX2, but I don't have many LAN/on-line games for it

I have (all PAL except Fragment);
.Hack//Fragment (has unofficial servers + Eng Patch)
Jak X (Has LAN, not sure that works on PCSX2, also had on-line servers)
R&C:G, R&C:3 (server based)
Burnout 3, Burnout Revenge (server based)
Crash Tag Team Racing (LAN)

We can try Crash Tag Team, I also have Jak X but from my previous testing it doesn't seem to work very well in LAN, but we can give it another go. You can join the hamachi channel mentioned above and then we will see when we can fix things up.

Hey so I was able to get Socom 2 LAN matches to run at a smooth 60fps at 4x native (all maps) without any EE or VU speedhacks by changing the VU0/VU1 Advanced Recompiler options to Nearest for Round Mode and Extra for Clamping Mode. Even my i5 2520m/HD3000 laptop was able to run between 50-60fps in software mode by changing those settings.
