New Kaby Lake laptop CPUs for PCSX2?

Hi I was looking at the minimum requirements for the emulator and it's a bit outdated. Since Kaby Lake laptop CPUs just starting to come out for laptops this winter, I was wondering how a Cpu like the new i5-7200U (base freq: 2.50Ghz up to 3.10Ghz) and the i7-7500U ( base freq: 2.70Ghz up to 3.50Ghz) would fare with running this emulator. 

I'm looking to buy a new laptop and it will most likely have either one of these two processors. Not interested in playing games at 5xnative resolution or above. I'm really hoping to play games at at least 3 times resolution seeing as I won't being playing at 4k but on a 1080p screen. Any help or experience would really be appreciated. Thank you

The cpu requirements are 1600+ minimum and 2000+ recommended single threaded performance in passmark.

And you will also need a decent dedicated gpu.

The cpu you have will do fairly well , able to play most games at full speed.

Which CPU did you mean would do well? The i5-7200U has a STR of 1740 and an average overall passmark score of 4713 while the i7-7500U has an STR of 1968 and an average overall passmark score of 5281. 

Would either one of these CPUs be able to run most game at 3xnative?

In regards to the GPU, the laptop I'm looking at would most likely a have a Nvidia Pascal 1050 mobile dedicated GPU.

Ups my bad i wanted to say both cpus will do good. 3x will be achievable.The i7-7500U Will do better ofc. If they have a dedicated gpu then that's good

Yes that's awesome. I don't want to spend too much on a laptop so hopefully either one of these CPUs will fit my needs at 1080p. 

How much does a dedicated GPU actually affect gameplay? I heard that PCSX2 almost doesn't even use the GPU to run games

Really depends on how much upscaling you do. There are some other minor factors, and there are a few games that are stupidly GPU intensive at any resolution for various reasons(See here: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-LIST-The-...#pid327486). Regardless of that, most games in PCSX2 will run on modern integrated graphics at least 2x, possibly more depending on the game.

You also must remember though that engaging the integrated graphics can cause the CPU to not turbo as much or be more prone to heat throttling since it's on the same die. A dgpu is always best, but an igpu can be serviceable.

It really dpeends on how high of a reolution you go. Intergrated is perfectly fine for native and maybe 2x but for things like 3x and upwards a dgpu is far better otherwise you are going to see slowdowns.

But yeah PCSX2 can and will hit the GPU hard at times. Theres a reason this thread is around

Well okay I'll definitely go ahead and get a dedicated GPU for my laptop then. As long as I'm able to play most games at good speeds with this new setup then I'm perfectly happy. I love the PS2 era of videogames. Thank you guys for the help

I do have one last question. When Skylake CPUs started coming out I remember reading here that there might be a performance hit since PCSX2 wasn't optimized for them yet. Is that still the case now? Also, is the same thing gonna apply for Kaby Lake CPUs?
