Noob Linux user (me) needs help !
#1
Hi guys!
I hope this is the right place in off topic to post something like that....
Well, in my pc i have also installed ubuntu 10.04 LTS (the other os is win7).
It's about 6 months i use it and i would like to change from the gnome desktop to kde.I opened synaptic and installed KDE, but now all app's of gnome remained and also the gnome session option at the login screen and i want to get rid of them Smile
in synaptic i searched for gnome, gnome-desktop, ubuntu-desktop etc... but found nothing useful
i still have both terminal and Konsole, also both gedit and Kate and 2 system monitors...
so is there some kind of code i put into konsole or some kind of package i have to remove to get rid off all the gnome stuff or is it just better to download a kubuntu cd and clean install ???

thanks in advance

in a terminal : aptitude remove gnome* and aptitude clean
or apt-get remove gnome* and apt-get clean
