OK - will THIS PC run Tekken 5 PERFECTLY?
#1
Hi all. A good friend is building a new pc. These are his specs:

Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge CPU - 3.4 GHz stock speed
Geforce GTX 580 Graphics Card - 1.5 GB GDDR5 Ram
8 GB Ram
Windows 7 Professional

Now, my pc, which is pretty good, CANNOT run this game at full speed, will his? I mean, his specs are excellent, so I hope the answer is yes. And by yes, I mean a constant 60fps in all stages. Or will he need to overclock? As we all know, Tekken 5 is a very demanding game, so I thought it would be an appropriate benchmark reference.

Pcsx2 is a big reason for him building a new system, and he asked me to ask the experts here. Cheers for all your help Smile

with some speedhacks and a bit of overclocking, could be....

A good benchmark for pcsx2 is SOTC. (even more demanding than TEKKEN 5)
CPU : I7 2600K Oc'ed @ 4.2Ghz
Mobo : Intel P67 southbridge
GPU : NVIDIA Geforce 560 GTX
RAM : 6 Go

It should run at about full speed. i get 40-55fps on my i7 @ 3.4ghz and gtx 570, so you'll probably be fine.

It will run perfect...
that sandy bridge have a very nice turbo speed (3.8 GHz??)
so he should get full framerate without even overclocking.
even with my i7 870 3.8 GHz which is much slower than the 2600K I get full speed Smile

refraction which i7 do you have ???
I guess you should get higher than that
because with my i7 870 on Stock (3.2 Turbo) and GTX 470 I get full speed in almost all stages, excluding the acid rain and penguin one?
but with 3.5~3.8 GHz OC, recommended speedhacks, & SuperVU recompiler I get full speed.

of course you can play any ps2 game at full speed (max 60 fps).
if games run slow, blame pcsx2 devs.

i have the i7 920 (2.66Ghz stock) with a no-brainer overclock to 3.4Ghz, memory running at just under 1.8Ghz. However i run the game with the clamps on full, no speedhacks and the microvu recompilers (i prefer stability over speed), the speed im getting is more than ample for me, you cant tell it drops under at any point.

"ANY" ???

don't say that. Some games are so demanding that no existing CPU could run them @decent framerate.

But it will run most common games at a framerate, if not full, at least decent.

it's too late for slow motion.
