"One Tone" scenes.
#1
This isn't a speed issue, but in games like Wild Arms 5 and Dragon Quest 8 there are scenes that are essentially sepia toned, and show nothing on screen but a solid color or the frame just before entering the scene, while audio continues to play.

Is there any real way to fix this in Hardware mode, or am I going to have to go into Software mode for these sections, because they render fine in software mode.

I'm mostly asking because the most I can get in Software Mode on these games is 38 FPS with my AMD Phenom 2 X4 3.2 ghz.

You could try the skipdraw hack in GSdx's hacks section but yea, for now the best way to go about this is switching to software mode temporarily.
