OpenGL Kernel Exception
#1
I really like OGL better than DX9/11, but unfortunately seems like anytime I use the emulator with OGL I end up with a unrecoverable kernel exception error code 3, subcode 7, and it is REALLY starting to bother me. From what i gather it is entirely related to the drivers which have been awful for windows 10. Anytime I try to search for a workaround to the problem I find nothing. Does anyone else have this problem, and perhaps a workaround??

Currently using 361.43. I remember having the same problem as far back as 352.xx if that helps.

I'm sorry to hear that. I had a lot of problems with win10 myself. Went back to win7, Haven't had a problem since. I definitely don't recommend windows10 to anyone. All people gotta do is read the wikipedia pages for windows10 and windows7 and that should tell you what the better operating system is.

Unfortunately I've never had this sort of issue, I've been running Windows 10 since the first public preview builds and never had any problems running PCSX2 throughout the various builds and driver updates to date. Maybe it's an issue with your graphics card?

What graphics card are you using? (My laptop uses a GeForce GTX 770M in conjunction with Intel HD 4600 integrated graphics, PCSX2 is set up and confirmed to run on the NVIDIA GPU.)

@Hawkeye I had 7,8,8.1, and 10. 10 is the best hands down minus the nvidia driver problems. But i had a lot of problems with drivers on 7 as well.

@Karashata It is in my sig Tongue Gigabyte GTX 750.

Is that driver updated from nvidia.com or is that just what came down with windows update?

Maybe, your game fill your VRAM. OpenGL has bigger requirements than DX (due to the additional emulated effect)

@refraction All my drivers come from nvidia site directly, I blocked GPU drivers from coming in via windows update.

@gregory I can't really say yes or no on that one what would you recommend for monitoring vram usage?

Use GPU-Z to monitor VRAM usage.

Ok. So. A few things that strike me as odd here.

1. Edited out I answered this myself, just a power saving feature Tongue

2. I played Dark cloud and the ram usage never even hit 300MB. And (as the sig shows) this is a 2GB Card. So I guess that isn't an issue @gregory.

3. Within like 2 minutes of turning it on the first time pcsx2.exe stopped responding and needed to close. No idea why.
