Optimizing pcsx2?
#1
Hello everyone. I've been using PCSX2 0.9.6.

I've tried playing some of my Ps2 games (both CD and ISO's) and I'm having some slight trouble. Alot of them seem to lag horribly (FPS avg 25-35). I want to say it isn't my machine but perhaps it is?

OS-Window's Vista Home Prem 32-bit
DirectX- 10
RAM- 4 Gigs
Graphics Card- Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT
Processor- Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz

The reason why I'm puzzled is because I've seen some youtube videos of people who had lower specs run my games at normal speeds. Like Darkcloud2 for instance.

I'm using the plugins that came with PCSX. Should I be using different plugin's? Or perhaps I just haven't tweaked the settings just right yet.

well one thing for sure is that videos recorded from withing pcsx2 are automatically sped up to the normal speed of the game Smile

what's your pcsx2 config, and plugins config?
Windows 7 64bit
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 OC to 3.6GHz, Intel GMA x4500, 1GB DDR2

NinjaMight just work on next guideNinja

All my plugin's are defaulted with what came with PCSX2. I've tried different graphic plugin's and cdrom plugin's. But thats about it. I've also played with speed hacks for awhile but none actually seem to help.

Is my build strong enough?

What configs do you recommend?
