RE: OverClock
That's high for stock clock, I take that you're using intel generic heatsink? If yes then you can forget overclocking until you get better cooler.

RE: OverClock
You can overclock, of course. But with a rather bad cooler it would be advisable not to add CPU voltage.
So you'll probably get your chip to around 3.4 or 3.5Ghz max.
Temperatures will rise ~8% from that, still manageable.

RE: OverClock
Is that max of 62c from a stress test?
Cause some of the heavier PS2 emulation can be nearly as taxing on your processor...

RE: OverClock
3.4 will be great already for me
the 62c max is not from stress test
i got it from the normal readng of coretemp without running anythng
im tryng the load test of real temp and
the temp is rising
core#0: 68-72c min55c max 79c
core#1: 62-65 min 50 max 73
core#2: 67-71 min 53 max 78
core#3: 66-69 min 53 max 76
its running on 100% load @time 20min

my CPU voltage is at 1.1375

btw what around
temp is dangerous level?
Thank you for replyng Laugh

RE: OverClock
first thing you want to check after every oc attempt = temp

oh and with that temp on stress test, you really shouldn't even think of overclocking, but it's your call.
