I have an Acer aspire 5641 with only PCI-E x16 v1 slots, and I need to get a new video card, but the model I need to get is a v2.0 card.
Will a PCI-E x16 v2.0 card work in a PCI-E x16 V1 slot?
yeah it will work just fine, except probably if it is a high end card (something better than a 460 gtx +-) it will perform worse than it should (not that much to even care except if you are gonna put a 570 or something

because it's cheap and I need something 8800GTS or better for fable 3 PC (yes, I'm upgrading for a PC game)
I wouldn't call that an upgrade, in fact I think it would be even weaker than your 8600gt...

Well Intel dual core at 2,2Ghz is enough for all games on PC, As far GPU upergrade I think 210 won't give better results. I used to have Ati X1550 and changed to Ati HD5450,and have good results.Don't know well Nvidia cards.
