PCSX2 1.0.0 Constant Crashes
#1
Hey guys, Im new here & I'm having some issues with PCSX2. It keeps crashing on me. My screen would go blank like if my display driver stopped working. I get "m_merge is NULL!" In all these games ( FFX, FFXII, .Hack Sign G.U & Shinobi )
These are the settings I used
Emulation Settings : Preset 1
[Image: Settings.png]
Enable HW Hacks ( MSAA x4)

I also tried D3D9 (HW) with the same settings then tried it w/o any settings just scaling, still crashes. I tried Fast boot & Full Boot, Still crashes. I understand that it would probably work fine in SW mode but then I cant change the resolution & I had might as well play on the console :/

HALP PLZ & Thank you!!

Are you using Shadeboost?
#3
No, Just this [Image: Settings.png]
#4
The plugin produced an invalid state, or an unhandled exception. I was lookin through the code, and it seemed to be linked to the multisampling hack, so ugh, try turning that off and test? Tongue

edit: typo
#5
Alright i'll give it a go, be back to update

Update : Still no go :/
#6
Then it sounds like maybe a bad ISO, or BIOS dump. To be sure, try downloading SVN r5460 here and trying with that, then report back.

What software did you use to burn your games?
#7
Simple, your CPU does not accept AVX, only the Bulldozer and newer do. The Phenon II works with SSE2.

Edit: I misread, the log show the emulator is using the SSE2. Anyway, make sure SSE2 is explicitly selects, I don't know how the emulator will react if AVX is the selected one but since it is crashing...

In this case, try without MSAA while testing... 5x Internal resolution may be overkill as well.

Edit: Still the first thing you should do is reinstalling PCSX2 outside the C:\Program Files. Install it in a folder you create yourself, like C:\Emulators or another partition if available.

That's fine as long as you're not trying to use them, just means it failed to attach the dll, because your cpu doesn't support those instruction sets.

I recommend using Imgburn to burn your discs in future btw.

I'll edit this if i think of something else that could help you. This is going to be something small and stupid we've missed btw, I can tell Tongue

One thing I forgot to ask was, does the emu crash right away, or after a certain amount of time?

Edit What's this about? "Loading savestate from slot 0...filename: C:\Users\Nyukori\Documents\PCSX2\sstates\SLUS-20963 (0779FBDB).00.p2s"

Are you loading from a save state when you're playing? .. don't, save it the way the game intended, with a save point. SStates are basically usefull tools for emergency saves, and quick testing etc.. not the most reliable way to play.
#10
:X oh i didn't know that , ill do it the right way & it actually happened both ways but mostly after a certain amount of time.
Simple it was. 1.1.0 is running great. It was the statesave. ON 1.0.0 I used it cause the game would crash before I would get to a save point.

Thanks for being so helpful man !!
