have you observed your CPU & GPU Temps during playing/testing as DaTankAC advised ? You should do it if not. Coretemp is a good tool for CPU to look at and for GPU i suggest if ATi, the inhouse Overdrive that comes with the driver (inside the control center) and on nVIDIA u have to look around whats good for them.

Otherwise if its a heat issue u would normally get a bluescreen from gpu or CPU would reduce the Clock. But its a thing u can try to resolve the problem.

Try installing this : http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/...px?id=8328
Even if it says it's installed, try repairing it and see how it goes
