PCSX2 1.2.1 Plugins Issues
#1
Hey guys. I installed PCSX2 1.2.1. I looked at vids and threads on here about the plugins. Everyone says and has GSdx 5875 (MSVC 18.00, SSSE3) 0.1.16 [gsdx32-ssse3-r5875] but I have GSdx 0 (MSVC 18.00, AVX) 0.1.16 [gsdx32-avx-r5875]. What am I missing? I need that other plugin! Lol. How do I get it? B/c the GSdx 0 is what came with the install.

What are your specs? Chances are your CPU doesn't support it.

There's no reason SSE3 wouldn't be supported if his CPU has support for AVX instructions, seeing as AVX is newer. (Assuming he actually does have AVX)

But there's also no reason to NOT be using AVX when you can. Everyone says and has GSdx 5875 SSE3 -- This is not true either. I use AVX2 myself with a far newer version of GSdx albeit a GIT version.
Anyway, like Key said - Specs please. (CPU, RAM, GPU, and your OS)

[Edit]
I don't get how he has a GSdx version 0 though. Wonder if it's some corrupted download, because I just downloaded 1.2.1 from the website and there's no such thing as a GSdx 0 in the pack.

@OP: Let us know where you downloaded PCSX2 from as well.

GPU: AMD Radeon R5 Graphics
Ram: 4gb
OS: Windows 8

Don't tell me its cuz its windows 8 cuz I play losts of games both old and new and that dosent mess with it. Lol. They play great. And I think this emu has a windows 8 compatibility anyways. I could be wrong tho.

So your issue is the revision number being reported as 0? That is nothing to fret about, it's simply a name. What you need to worry is the version itself, and you already have 0.1.16 so you should be fine.

1.2.1 comes with a variety of instruction sets for GSdx: SSE2, SSSE3, SSE4, AVX, AVX2.
Your CPU supports SSE4, so that will probably be your best option in terms of performance too (or AVX, not sure).

Version 0 happens when you don't have the compiler set up to report versioning right. When I was doing the GIT builds, all plugins were "Version 0"

Ok. Then how do I set up the compiler? And I think the AVX might be better. Idk. But playing Kingdom Hearts 1, on destiny islands, when im facing a "high detailed" part, it goes from 60fps to 45 or 40fps.

Even on best cpus, you'll get slowdowns on destiny islands.
