PCSX2 Configuration for Persona 4
#1
Hello,
I recently started playing my old PS2 games, and Persona 4 is one of the games that I'd thought I try to play, since I loved it a lot. But as I go through the game, the FPS drops from 60 to around 30-35 for a bit then drops even further down to 10-20.

Would someone be able to help me think of a Configuration that would make the game run smoothly, with decent/average graphics.

My Laptop Specs:
Processor:Intel Core i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz (4 Processors)
Graphics:Nvidia GT 635M (2 GB)
Ram: 8 GB

Configuration/Settings I'm using
gsdx-sse4-r4600 ; direct3d11 (hardware)
EE/IOP; Recompiler, Recompiler, Chop/Zero, None
VUs; microVU recompiler, microVU recompiler, Chop/Zero, None
No Speedhacks
Auto-GameFixes Enabled

As my FPS drops, my EE%: 15-18% GS%: 6-12%

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thank you!

1. Tick native in gsdx

2. Set windows power plan to high performance

Now that I can play the game through smoothly with average graphics, if I wanted to up the graphics a notch, how would I go about doing that? And thank you to any help!

set resolution to 2x or above until it slow down your game.

In my experience, upscaling Persona 4 anything over x3 WILL slow down some menus and boss fights. Remove any gamefixes, speedhacks, and HW hacks. It runs better on DirectX11 and you can also enable Texture Filtering and 8-bit Textures. The only slow down you'll have is when a boss fight "starts" around 50fps. The game pretty much runs smoothly with NO problems at all.

Grab the new PCSX2 1.0 from the site, and enable the MTVU hack. Should provide a nice speed boost.

Persona 3/4 doesn't need any speedhacks if you have a decent PC

So does any game, but having one doesn't hurt.

TC's PC specs are more than enough to emulate most in full speed, including Persona 4.
