PCSX2 Persona 3 Fes

Hey I'm a brand new PCSX2 user and am playing Persona 3 Fes through the iso but the framerate is really erratic and not constant at all. What's the best configuration I can try to keep it in the 50-60 fps range? These are the specs of my laptop, also I'm using version 1.1.0 of PCSX2.

SMBIOS Version 2.4
Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "6.1.7601.17514"

Total Physical Memory 3.87 GB
Available Physical Memory 1.62 GB

Any help would be much appreciated!

Persona 3 FES is normally a medium heavy game, but with some monsters that are white or gold or rainbowy, you will notice a huge drop in FPS. I had this even with my machine.

General advice: Use the recommended speed hacks (avoid VU cycle steal in this game as it will cause more slowdowns). Integrated graphics so use native resolution. Make sure you don't have any system heavy things running in the background (a web browser with a dozen tabs, half of them being youtube for example). You can also set the audio sync setting to async instead of time stretch. This makes the audio play full speed independent of how fast everything else is emulated. There is a chance it could cause emulation issues, but I never had any problems in persona 3.
