PCSX2 Very Slow
#1
Hi,

I'm having some trouble running the pcsx2 with every single game i tried to play..

NFSU2: 13fps
NFSmw: 13fps
FFX: ~30-50

i tried many configurations on pcsx2 and no difference with running everything on low.. Wacko

Specs HP DV6-6070EP:
i7 2630QM (2.0 - 2.9)
ATI Radeon HD 6770M 1gb GDDR5 / Intel HD Graphics 3000 (BTW I was using the ati graphics card but i don't think that the ati was rendering the games)
8 GB RAM
750 GB 5200 Rpm

Its a Laptop? then it will run slow.
  • Change the Round mode to Nearest and Clamp Mode to None in Both EE and VU's section.
  • Use Speedhacks : All the Reccomended ones
  • Use Native Resolution
  • Try Allow 8-bit Texture
  • Change Windows Power Plan to High Performance : Important

Don't expect fullspeed.

It's a laptop but still better than many desktops is there some kind of incompability with laptops ? coz i can play crysis 2 (20-30 fps), need for speed the run(30 locked) and battlefield 3(20-30 fps) maxed out..

I tried what you said and couldn't see any difference

NFSU2 16 fps .. Wacko

more likely your laptop is latent to high-heat during pcsx2's emulation
may we check your cpu temperatures using CoreTemp.
Main PC1:i5-4670,HD7770(Active!)
Main PC2:i5-11600K,GTX1660Ti(Active!)

PCSX2 version uses:Custom compiled buildĀ 1.7.0 64-bit(to be update regularly)

Here are the cpu and gpu temps i don't think that's the problem because when i play gta iv the temps go cpu 90 and gpu 85 with turbo boost without turbo boost temps doesn't go higher than 80 for cpu and 72 for gpu

The need for speed games are very slow on PCSX2. I also think there's bugs with them.
FFX is moderately demanding and thus runs well on a good computer.
You should have at least an Intel dual core with some 3.4Ghz or so.
(I bet your laptop is lacking there, isn't it?)

looks like you're always trying to compare native pc games with PS2 emulation...
this is a complete nonsense.

Many games under pcsx2 are far more demanding htan any recent PC game.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

I'm not comparing the games itself but the computers .. there's some computers that can't play those games like my laptop and still can run the pcsx2 better i'm comparing the computers performance not the games ps2/pc..

Don't think so.. my cpu is quad and have 8 threads and since the new pcsx2 supports threading i guess its not a problem.. However i've done some search in youtube of laptops with lower specs than mine playing nice.

hem, actually, I wonder which ones...

anyways, yours won't be enough to play NFS series, like rama said.

Tried with less demanding games, if you have some ?

well this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAHaUwidxso

Tomb Raider Legend plays at 26 i guess there's some kind of bug on my graphics which leave's the low demanding app's to the intel :s
