PCSX2 - Widescreen Game Patches
@nonosto:

So it only doesn't work on your PS3?
Or is it the same with PCSX2 and your PS2?

Same on PAL version. At center of the screen, brush position is perfectly aligned. The more you go to the left or right border, the more it get misaligned. Just like if the brush was drawing on a 4/3 drawing screen whereas the drawing screen is in 16/9.

Not so major issue, I played whole game like that.

Thanks

Not only on my PS3, this code run on my PS2 via cheat file for PS2RD.
And I used patch engine I copy/paste and patch it.

Myabe with inital value I can try to do it manually.

Not sure if it will do something different, but you can try converting pnach to HEX code using PNACH converter then apply it to your ISO.

So the patch works on your PS2 but not on the PS3?
(At least it should work on PS2, since it does for me...)

It's a memory patch, so converting to search/replace hex pattern with PNACH converter won't work. Embedding with Patch Engine should theoretically work, but I don't know what could go wrong when emulated on a PS3 - sure, it's a backwards compatible PS3, but still...

EDIT, this is what I'm using. Just in case... Wink

PCSX2 doesn't have an internal FPS counter (ingame FPS), situation that makes very difficult to find 60 FPS codes for games, but lucky me I still found it for Metal Gear 3 Subsistence and of course you can see a HUGE difference!

Code:
gametitle=Metal Gear Solid 3 - Subsistence Disc 1 (Limited Edition, SLUS-21359)
comment=Force 60 FPS
patch=1,EE,001D5AD8,extended,00000000
patch=1,EE,001D6DB8,extended,00000001
patch=1,EE,001D6DBC,extended,00000000

Code:
gametitle=Metal Gear Solid 3 - Subsistence Disc 1 (Limited Edition, SLUS-21359)
comment=Force 30 FPS
patch=1,EE,001D5AD8,extended,00000040
patch=1,EE,001D6DB8,extended,00000002
patch=1,EE,001D6DBC,extended,00000001

We all know that this game needs a powerful CPU to achieve full speed at 30FPS, so with the 60 FPS code enabled we need a MUCH MORE powerful CPU.

According to some testing, the EE needs at least 20% overclock to work perfectly or else the emulated PS2 can't reach 60 FPS.

The main speed problem with the game are the cutscenes, that's because the game runs at 60 FPS ONLY while these are playing. That's why I included the 30 FPS cheat (gameplay original values), with this code enabled the cutscenes are a lot less CPU demanding and the game is more enjoyable with not so powerful hardware.

Woah, thats great! The EE needs a 20% overclock to work perfectly (at least in the first areas of the game I tried), or else the emulated PS2 can't reach that framerate.

Although this has nothing to do with PS2...

Hey Nemesis, do you know if you can remove the cutscene letterboxing in the PC version of Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition?
