PCSX2 for Mac CrossOver Guide
#11
I run PCSX2 on my MacBook Pro using crossover with little or no problems. Not all games are entirely compatible with PCSX2, so you might try a different game or continue to alter the settings.

Hey Guys,

I was thinking on buying this laptop

http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/hewl...A_HPLaptop.

I want a laptop that I will be able to play the ps2 emulator.
So I was wondering if this one will be good for me. I am hoping to get a laptop, not that expensive.

Thanks

Can you also maybe screen shot  me your settings, and what games do you play?
Because supposedly my specs are not the greatest, however my mac is from 2014

That Laptop's CPU does have an STR of 566. We recommend 1600. So, no it'll be too weak for pcsx2
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070

CPU STR = 916 =too weak
It'll work, but it'll be unplayably slow

CPU STR = 1643 = should be enough for the games you mentioned with a few slowdowns. But you'll get playable results.

If you need further advices about which PC you need to buy, please open your own thread in the offtopic/hardware subforum instead of pulluting the mac subforums. Thanks

Thanks for creating the guide! Really helped me out. I'm trying to hook up my Playstation 3 controller right now and the option is greyed out in the LilyPad plugin. It says I require the libusb driver, how would I install that using CrossOver?

You don't.
You configure the controller like any other input device.

OP: got this working great, two comments to add:

1) Had to Get DX 11 from here instead ; the link you had goes to a SPAM/potential malware link download site that never actually gave me the file
http://www.freesoftwarefiles.com/multime...-download/

2) Go into SPU2/Audio settings - plug in settings, change #2 output settings / Module to DirectSound - default isn't good

You have to be careful not to let CrossOver automatically install DX9.
