If it is because I have provided 10 points in English.
As if you needed them: I'm using an .iso for the Tourist Trophy and a DVD(original) for the Need For Speed Underground 2(NFS U2).

Actually that's incorrect. I have noticed SOME improvements on SOME games, even on a dual core.

@bravox09 Generally it's best when somebody who has the games helps, but since this thread turned into "how MTvu speedhack works on dual cores" which doesn't matter at all since you have quad, I'll generalize a bit trying to help you, or rather pass you some info, how you can help yourself;P.

Firstly you're using stable release of pcsx2, which is pretty old nowadays(soon new stable will be released), try using latest svn version off here. It's possible something was fixed already which caused slowdown in that ultra-laggy game of yours and also there's a new speedhack which will make use of third core potentially speeding up emulation for you.

Now have some tips how to check what's limiting your fps and what can you do with it:

When your game doesn't work at full fps(50/60 for pal/ntsc), check the EE, GS and when using MTvu speedhack also VU% at the titlebar of GSdx output window(the one displaying the game). Now what does they mean?
All of them show thread load over your cpu, meaning if any of them reaches 100%, you are limited by your cpu, hoewer if none of it reaches 100%, most of the time the slowdown is caused by gpu limitation or simply - bugs, as emulation is imperfect process.

Soo you should know now if your game is limited by cpu or gpu, what to do now with it:

If your game is limited by cpu, things that can affect it's speed are as follows:
- speedhacks(config>emulation settings>speedhacks), hoewer the slider speedhacks can cause bugs and even slow down the game instead, soo they're there to experiment and not something to fire and forget, the new MTvu speedhack is usually great speedup, but doesn't help in all games and sometimes it causes different kinds of bugs as well,
- using SuperVU instead of MicroVU(config>emulation settings>VUs) can speedup some games very well, but make note, MTvu speedhack requires at least VU1 to have MicroVU selected, SuperVU can also decrease compatibility as it's pretty old, but usually works well,
- for some speedup when limited by cpu you could also try setting clamping mode to "none"(in config>emulation settings> for both EE/IOP and VUs), but this usually doesn't give much while can cause some serious problems with games logic, soo it's usually not worth.

Now, if your game is limited by GPU. pretty much most things that will affect speed are in config>video(GS)>plugin settings... :
- you can try "allow 8 bit textures" both on/off as it can slowdown or speedup your game depending how it's limited and especially worth trying on radeons which at times from my experience can make a huge difference from crawling to full speed,
- ofc the most obvious thing to change when limited by gpu - internal res - the higher it is the more demanding game for your gpu is, soo you can decrease it to "native" or even less by setting custom res below native which pretty much is different for all games, some can get really low res like 320x320 or less, but ofc, the resulting game will be very blurry and is usually not worth playing like that, hopefully your gpu should be good enough for x2 and even x3 multiplier in most games, that's why I listed the other option first,
- if you enable hardware hacks in GSdx config, you can also click configure.. and try some different skipdraw settings, just type in some low values there like 1 or 5 and check if there's any change, sometimes games have glitchy graphics that can cause huge slowdowns, skipdraw can just skip-drawing them resulting in speedup,
- you can also try setting different renderer, some games are soo buggy in hardware rendering that actually they can be faster in software mode, through by general rule, hardware is faster, also DX10/11(same thing code side) is also faster most of the times than DX9, but for buggy games it's worth trying both,

Pretty much last thing to do to increase speed in situation when gpu limits your game is using frame skipping(config>emulation settings>GS), it'll also decrease load on GS thread if you were limited from cpu side by it. It have some serious flaw as PS2 games weren't designed to work with such things, and you have to experiment with it's settings couse it can cause serious glitches and ofc the animation get's very choppy and ruin gameplay experience. If you have to use it as a last resort, but only at some parts of the game, you can select it to activate only on Turbo mode, then set turbo to 100% and activate it while playing by pressing TAB key.

Well that covers most typical solutions for speed, hope it helps you a bit, if you think it's a long lecture, check the official guide, which you could also read if you want to understand what each option does.

Also using DVD instead of running backup off the hdd directly doesn't really affect the fps of the game, but it can cause short freezes from time to time, it's caused by different settings on PS2 and PC dvd drives, pc drive basically stops when not used very often and when the game wishes to take another portion of data it have to spin up again resulting in that short freeze, soo generally it's recommended to rip your games to hdd and play from backups. Not all programs can re-create a fully working ps2 game copy, soo to avoid bugs use some well tested program like Imgburn.

Thank you very much miseru99. I tested what you said, but the only thing that works is tick the box to allow 8-bit textures(what i had already ticked).
