PCSX2 plugins update for Windows!
#1
Hey guys!
We've made some important changes to GSdx and SPU2-X concerning bugfixes, stability, and emulation correctness. It's best to use these with the PCSX2 0.9.7.r3113 beta release.

Head over to the beta downloads section to grab the 7z archive with the upgraded plugins. To upgrade, extract into your PCSX2 plugins folder and then select them from PCSX2's plugin selector.

GSdx changes:
  • Better DirectX 11 detection.
  • Wrong colors in the movie record feature fixed.
  • More CRCs for automatic post process removal.
  • Stability fixes and preparation work for future PCSX2 revisions.
  • Finally fixed the remaining DirectX 11 memory leaks on emulator suspends!
SPU2-X changes:
  • Major bugfix that prevented SPU2-X from initializing on many users systems.
  • More accurate emulation regarding double interrupts.
  • Fixed minor volume issues and doubled output volume.
  • Fixed a write-back issue that had caused memory corruption before.
Now the Tales of Destiny 2 sound test has a working visual equalizer.
  • Mostly fixed voice modulation (used in Romancing Saga and FFX battles).
  • Clamp illegal pitch settings, fixing another bunch of games.
  • Hopefully fixed bad reverb area problems.

Enjoy Smile

That was nice, the originals had some problems, mainly the SPU2-X, reason why many were sticking with the .9.6

I've made it to the first town, Port Rosalia, and so far so good.
The only issues I've had are artifacts around the in game text while using a non native resolution, but it's still readable. Also, when I open Treasure Chests, strange translucent artifacts appear briefly, but they are very faint, and therefore do not impair your ability to see what's going on. The strange translucent artifacts also appear during battles, but again, they are very faint, and therefore do not impair your ability to see what's going on.

By the way,, setting the "VU Cycle Stealing" Speedhack above zero causes random crashes, but that's to be expected, since it is a speed hack, after all, so just leave it at zero. Cool

From what I've seen so far, it looks like the new plugins now make this game 100% playable.
ALSO! at 5x internal res, I didn't see any dips in FPS below 50, from the beginning, to the first town.

Isn't there another RPG that had the same over-bright glitch?
Lemme know what it is and I'll test it out. Happy

Yay! Finally, my games work again!

I don't know what the issue has been, since I've switched basically every driver in and out and kept getting the same problem. Every game I played would run for about an hour before crashing without any errors in the console. It was really frustrating, but now it's gone after almost a year. Now I can finally finish my games.
