PCSX2CE: PCSX2 Cheat Converter / Patch File Editor
The codes he posted are the original and they are for the PAL version of the game.
Gamester40 do you have file named SLES_527.81 inside the disk/image?

Or is it SLUS_210.60

He confused them as "raw";p -
Code:
Here's what PCSXCE2 gives me even though omniconvert says it is "raw" data...
And it looks like he tried to format the codes you posted to pnach using PCSX2CE and as they also didn't change considered it a bug. O.O At least I understand it that way.

vsub,

just checked, and there doesn't seem to be an sles code number anywhere? Perhaps I am looking inside the wrong area? (I opened the iso file using isobuster and it wasn't there at all, but there were multiple folders within, and when I checked those, it was nowhere there either.)

I get that I may be using the wrong action replay version for the code, but online the code site didn't specify WHICH version of Action Replay it was from, and omniconvert shows three choices under "action replay" and after trying two different types it still didn't work....

miseru99,

you are partially correct....because I saw the // after the text that vsub posted, I assumed it wasn't raw text. (that was what the author of this entire thread stated in the very first post, after all.)

maybe someone could help with that?

The codes I posted are your original codes converted to raw and then into pnach format.
Those codes are for the PAL version of the game and if you don't have file named SLES_527.81(or something that start with SLES or SCES),then those codes are not for your version which means they won't work.

If you have a file that start with SLUS or SCUS,then your version is the USA version

@Gamester40 The "//" means the line is commented out, the program from this thread comment out non-raw codes, but also text which you use along with the codes for description and after conversion to pnach they'll look exactly how Vsub posted.

They say a picture is worth of thousand words - when you run your game look at the top of pcsx2 log window and you should see something similar to:

Ofc it'll be different for you, but the format is same - first is game title, then game region, then it's version code and last is status. That version code in above example is SLUS-21564, you'll have a different one for your game, and basically you need to find cheats made for exactly same version. Often people post the code just saying it's for PAL or NTSC version couse games aren't re-released for same regions too often, soo it's usually enough.

Hey,
I'm having a couple of issues. It's been a while since I have used PCSX2CE. I know I have used it sucessfully in the past and have the .pnach files to prove it but can't for the life of me get it to work now.

I am trying to use codes for Final Fantasy X (E) [A39517AB]
I tried both Gameshark V4 Codes and AR Max codes (seperately) but had some issues.
Here's a step by step of what happened;
-I converted the codes in Omniconvert using the correct input for each and outputing as Unencrypted -> Standard (was unsure if this was the correct setting but could not find anything to suggest otherwise)
-I copied the output into PCSX2CE using the above CRC however some of the codes were converted as comments rather than the patch=1,etc,etc that the rest were.

The codes that were commented seemed to all start with F (for Gameshark) and 9 (for AR Max).

Sorry to ask this here but I have looked over the documentation and this thread and don't really understand what I have done wrong.

Please help a noob out Smile

Any assistance is appreciated.

Cheers

Codes with F and 9 are master codes/code enablers, the PCSX2CE doesn't convert them to pnach as they're usually not needed in pcsx2, if case they're for that game, you'll need to edit them manually.
Some multi codes take second line as value and if it starts from 9 or F, for example:
Code:
//multi write code example
40205060 00130001
FFFFFFFF 00000000
PCSX2CE will also comment them out:3, you'll also need to edit this line of code manually to work. The program just makes it faster, it's not really hard to change the above example to
Code:
//multi write code example after conversion to pnach
patch=1,EE,40205060,extended,00130001
patch=1,EE,FFFFFFFF,extended,00000000
takes a moment;P pnach file can be easily edited with any text editor like a windows notepad.

Thanks I'll give that a shot Smile

Any help would be hugely welcome as this is starting to drive me a bit mental! Wacko

Cheers

I guess the codes are ok, and actually FFX probably doesn't need master code. Codes starting from D* can be a problem as those probably require key input, which probably doesn't work with pnach. Anyway the problem is most likely that you have wrong codes, not 100% which version you have, but if it's PAL, I looked on other FFX PAL codes posted around this thread and they were slightly different, soo you're probably trying to use NTSC codes for PAL version(or opposite).

Also in case you dunno about it, FFX has an existing save game editor, which allows alot of cheating in easy way, you can find it here, just above PCSX2CE thread;]. Through if you wish to make your game easier, don't change your lvls high as monsters lvlup with you in X.

Good luck *leaving to play Skyrim* :3
