PNACH Troubles
#1
I've read around and discovered that this is a big issue not only for me but for a lot of people.

So you've probably already had this question MULTIPLE TIMES but here is the run down. (At the risk of sounding redundant of course)

1. I'm receiving an error on the PCSX2 Program Log stating:

[wx] can't open file 'cheats\160076fe.pnach' (error 2: the system cannot find the file specified.)

The file extension is .pnach not .pnach.txt I've checked multiple times.

2. I obtained the CRC from the program log and it doesn't contain the 0x. It is for Grandia II and the CRC for it according to the log is 160076FE

3. I am running PCSX2 Version 0.9.8 r4600 with a valid working BIOS. (otherwise I do believe I wouldn't even be able to play Laugh)

4. This is the capabilities of my PC. Trust me it's a very capable machine.

Host Machine Init: Windows 8
Operating System = Microsoft (build 9200), 64-bit
Physical RAM = 8120 MB
CPU name = Intel® Core™ i5-4670 CPU @ 3.40GHz
Vendor/Model = GenuineIntel (stepping 03)
CPU speed = 3.398 ghz (4 logical threads)

With a hard disk space of 2 TB.

5. This is the content for the PNACH file named (160076FE.pnach)

comment=Insert comment.
gametitle=Grandia II (NTSC-U) [SLUS-20194]
//unlimited Special coins
patch=1,EE,00164f58,word,0000ffff
patch=1,EE,013493a8,word,0000ffff
//unlimited Magic coins
patch=1,EE,013493ac,word,0000ffff
patch=1,EE,00164f5c,word,0000ffff
//unlimited money
patch=1,EE,013493a4,word,0000ffff

Lately I've been thinking that word should be replaced with extended. I downloaded the cheat log from this site so I assumed it would work.

http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Post-your...tches-here

So any ideas as to what the hell is going on? I've tried everything I can think of with no real resolution to the problem.

If it is a matter of cheat code not being correct (as the status did say ????? of whether or not it would work) then I'd like to be pointed in the direction of some working codes and modify the pnach file accordingly.

I do have omniconvert btw.

I am led to believe this isn't a problem however...because it is just having a problem locating the file. Wouldn't the program log actually say it was invalid if it was incorrect?

Updated my pnach file with that information and I still got the same (Cannot find the file specified) error.

Oh and thanks. I built my pc myself from the ground up. It has a beast of a graphics card as well. It only cost me about 1300 dollars too. Laugh

make a save state and make a screenshot of your "pcsx2 console log window" so that i can determine the CRC.

is your pcsx2 install on a restricted windows folder???
e.g. Program files,Users,Windows
kinda run as administrator
or run pcsx2 in a other partition drives.
or mistakenly forgot to enable cheats(System-->Enable cheats)

It shouldn't be. It is in a folder I created on my desktop. I have the enable cheats on.
