I really don't understand your discusion here. Almost all (99.99%) of the new GPU cards can run PCSX2 just fine. (with no AA, but.. it works xD)

what game what scaling? using native on 1080p monitor isn't exactly what hi-res pcsx2 gaming is...

I think he means choosing an internal resolution 1920*1080 and playing the game either at full screen or windowed at 1920*1080.

OK!
The FedEx Guy delivered my shiny new TX 460 about an hour ago!
So far, I''ve tested Wild Arms 5 and Final Fantasy 12 with it.
Unfortunately, it did not improve the base fps on those games at all.

However, it did allow me to increase the scaling from 2x to 4x Without impacting FPS!

Basically, it worked out like this:
(No speed hacks, win 7, GSdx 10/11, v-sync off, Ripped ISO (not mounted),Desktop res @ 1080p)
~Fighting the Big Spidey Boss in the Barheim Passage~
FF 12 @ Native 45 to 60 FPS
FF 12 @ 2x Res 45 to 60 FPS
FF 12 @ 3x Res 45 to 60 FPS
FF 12 @ 4x Res 45 to 60 FPS

Before, with my 8600GT, anything over 2x lowered my frame rate, considerably.

So, this means that I should, in fact, go ahead and buy an i5 750 (and a new MB, big heatsink, and new RAM) and overclock it to 4 GHz.
I think that the i5 750 overclocked, paired with this GTX 460, should, at the very least, raise my minimum FPS to around 55-ish.
At least, I hope so!

Oh, and remember, if anyone askes who made FF 12, it's pronounced like this:
Squeeee-Nix! Biggrin

I'm gonna keep an eye open for good deals on the new hardware I'm gonna buy, over the next couple of weeks, because change I found in my couch's cushions, can only take me so far... Tongue
In the meantime, I'm gonna test out my other games on my current rig.
My PCSX2 Rig:Windows XP x32 & Windows 7 x64.
i5 2500k @ 4.0 GHz.
nVIDIA GTX 460 1 GB.

well an i750 at 4ghz will take the fps to really crazy numbers and not just 55...

basicly its strange that you have so low fps with that overclock on that athlon II, ff12 plays almost always at max fps for me!

Yah, it is kinda weird. It might have something to do with only having 2 cores, and being limited to the SSE2 version of GSdx 10/11.
To be fair though, about 90% of the time, it runs at a solid 60 FPS, like when I'm running around towns, or beating up on regular monsters out in the fields and dungeons, with a full on-screen party of 3 + 1 Guest.
It's just that when the EE gets above 94%, both cores of my cpu are pegged out at 100% usage in Task Manager, and I get the slowdowns.
In addition, all FMVs are playing at full speed (They were doing that too with my old card).

I could probably get an extra 10 FPS if I could overclock my Athlon II X 240 to 3.9 GHz, but it's unstable at anything above 3.5...

Hmm.. You know, I just realized that I'm using the stock heatsink! Ohmy
I'm gonna go ahead and purchase the aftermarket heatsink for the i5 i was gonna get, because it also works with my AM3 Socket, and some faster memory, and try to push my existing CPU further. IF it works, I'll save about four hundred dollars. ($)_($)

I forgot to mention that with this new vid card, that the NPCs in Rabanastre (and elsewhere) now load almost instantly, whereas, before, I had to wait for nearly a full minute for them to appear. I think the added RAM (twice as much as my old card had) and higher memory bandwidth on the new card is helping out there?
