RE: PS3 Controller on 64 bit windows 2.0!
I think I fixed it. It seems as though when I run the INF creation program and have to select the device, I wasn't selecting the right one. I was under the impression that if you couldn't locate the device you could just click next and name it yourself (so it says in the program). Apparently this is not the case. You MUST select a device from the list given to you. I had a choice between 2 USB input devices and it seems that I gambled correctly and picked the right one this time.

Thanks

Ah, yes. That would do it. And easy way to check is to just unplug and replug your controller. You should see the list take a device away and then put one back up.

Everything is installed and I can get the controller to stop blinking and have a solid light after running sixaxis64.exe a few times, but I still can't get the controller to work. It shows up in Devices as the Playstation® 3 Controller, but when I go to calibrate it or set buttons nothing happens. It still doesn't register any button I hit...

It was turning my ps3 on in the other room (through a few walls and over 20 feet away!).

Hah, embarrassing.

Yes, it works great. I tested it while playing NBA 2k9 for the PC and it feels like I'm playing it on the PS3. Thanks for your quick replies!

Just Curious....
Couldn't you guys just use a 360 controller or was all of this just to for kicks to get a ps3 working on it?

360 controllers are pretty much plug and play with Vista and Win7.

PS3 controllers are not, thus this thread. I also refuse to have anything to do with XBox.

I agree completely. After taking apart my wife's 360 to fix the heat issues i believe the only thing that was good was the controller. Now i just gotta find a buyer for that brick.
Clear brick actually...

If you didn't already noticed there is a working x64 tool for Sixaxis and DS3 out there for connection via bluetooth.

Works very well for me on Windwos 7 7600 x64.
