Pcsx2 doesn't want to use my cpu o.O
#1
Hello all !

I've a little problem on pcsx2, especially on God war, shadow of the colossus or Timesplitters 3. My CPU goes to 20 to 50% of load, but never higher, but these game need more than 50% to run well (god of war runs at 40/50fps, i'm frensh, so i play to pal games).

I've test a software that stress my cpu, it results that my cpu can run at 100%.

Thanks in advance !

PS: I've an i7 2630QM.
PPS: i've test the GSDX AVX plugin, it's really slow, is it normal ? :s

Edit: my laptop is always in performance mode, i've a cooler (the processor dont overheat, 60/75°C max)

You have a quad CPU, pcsx2 uses only 2 cores at max. Means 50% is normal to see and it works at full speed then.

I misspoke ^^" 50% of one core at max, and less than 10% for the 3 other core (i see that on core temp and on the task manager by "on graphic by UC")

Any chance you have speedhacks on max? If you do, turn them off. But generally you should tell a bit more of your system. Maybe you have weak GPU and that slows down emulation to the case it doesn't need more cpu power at the time. And GSdx AVX umm that was the linux or mac? You probably should post in proper subforum for your OS.

2 Ghz is low. Don't expect full speed without speedhacks.

Thanks to MSI Afterburner ^^ it was my graphic card (not so bad Sad Nvidia GT 540M) that was to slow =/

In native mode, it run well =) could i use a lower resolution than 2x native but higher than native ? What is the resolution of the native mode please ? Smile

Guess they differ in PAL 512x512 or NTSC 512x448, you can always use custom res at least in GSdx.

custom res in default is 1024 X 1024 which is the same as 2x Scaling Wink

"NTSC 512x448" x2 = 1024x896 NOT 1024x1024
