#1
Hi everyone :Smile

Before i start ,I'm new here :Smile

So i'm not new to PCSX2 ,before i had another pc which runs PCSX2 (25 to 40 fps)

my old pc had :

CPU : Intel Pentium G620 2.6GHZ
GPU : Intel HD Graphics (Familly one)
RAM : 2GB DDR3

My new one runs games REALLY slow ,his specs are :

CPU : Intel Pentium E5200 2.5GHZ 2 Cores
GPU : Macy GeForce GT730 4GB Edition
RAM : 4GB DDR2

i'm not sure why it's slow , any ideas ?

Your new CPU is slower than your old one, that's the biggest reason your games run much slower. Wink

What abt E6400 ? will it run games faster ?

And that GPU is good or no?

The Pentium G620 is a Sandy Bridge cpu which is a few generations newer , that's why it was faster.

Going from lga 1155 to 775 is such a downgrade in your case.
CPU: I7-4770 3.9GHZ
Motherboard: Asrock B85M - DGS
RAM: Hyper X Savage 2x8GB 1.6GHZ CL9
GPU: GTX1070 8GB GDDR5
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64bit

E6400 is even slower. You'll want a CPU with a STR of at least 1600.

Your old pc's Intel Pentium G620 has 1322, which wasn't that bad.
Your new pc's E5200 has 1017, which as you can tell is worse.
The E6400 only has 799, that's pretty bad, less than half of what you'd want to get a good improvement over your old PC's performance.

You can look up the STR(single thread rate) of most CPU's here:

The GPU is more than good enough.

I see now , I should upgrade to 1155 ,since G620 can't be overclocked ,it means i need a new processor ,what do u suggest bro ?

i'll take a look on the shops here and see what i can find ...

btw : my old pc has 2GB RAM DDR3 while this one has 4GB RAM DDR2 ,which one is better ?

thanks everyone for the kind reply

RAM isn't an important factor when it comes to pcsx2.
so that probably won't change anything

It will run, probably not well if you can't overclock that CPU, you might be fine with lighter games like FFX, Monster Hunter or Kingdom Hearts
