Okay, so the emu gets me through the Atlus and Softdec logos then when it's time for the intro video, the screen just goes black and nothing happens. Any ideas?

P.S. Black screens may be caused by speedhacks you have enabled.

No i dont have idea for your problem but for me this game working fine and dont have an issue at all.
Notebook ASUS A43TA|CPU AMD Llano APU A6-3400m Triple core (1 core disable) OC to 2.6+Ghz|GPU CF|HD 6520 400Mhz/667Mhz iGPU|HD6650M OC 780Mhz/985Mhz dGPU|RAM 8GB DDR3 1333|Windows 7 Ultimate Sp.1 x64 bit.

Maybe an extremely outdated version of pcsx2?
If you have the latest version, did you try without speedhacks?

mmmm... it happened to me, thought i dont think that is the same scenario
I have an intel GMA 4500M gpu that supposedly supported DX10, however, when i set to it the emu even crashed, passing those points, if thats the case maybe changing to DX9?
if it isnt the case I cant think of anything else
My Laptop:
CPU: intel T4200 @ 2.0 ghz
GPU: Intel GMA X4500M
Ram: 3 Gb DDR2
SO: WinVista Home Premium // Windows 7 Ultimate x32
