RE: Play game from file?
well you can do it that way, but it's more preferable to do it through Run CD/DVD Tongue

Windows 7 64bit
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 OC to 3.6GHz, Intel GMA x4500, 1GB DDR2

It won't break anything if I keep doing it that way, will it?

No, but as said above it is recommended to use File->Run CD/DVD. Now if you're obsessed with Run->Execute,keep using that Tongue

May as well since that's what I've been using for over a year or so now haha. When giving out tidbits of advice I'll tell people File->Run though!

My question, how(if its possible) can I run a game strait from a file? Not a ISO or any thing like that. I put a game on my pc by going to the dvd drive, selecting all and copying it to a folder on my pc. Ever thing is intact (I used a software that lets you copy copy-protected DVDs).

And yes, this is a legal game that I own, I just rather keep it on my pc.

Thanks.
You can't do that. Most of the contents of games are hidden and not selectable from the windows explorer. You need to use a program like imgburn, nero etc to create an iso image of your game for it to be usable from anything (including PCSX2)

I downloaded IMGburn, and used it to turn the folder I had coppyed using windows explorer into an ISO, and guess what? IT RUNS! So a folder coppyed using windows explore DOES have all the files needed to run the game.

We'll see about that Ninja

Most games use data written to parts of the CD that Windows doesn't interpret correctly. So it runs for now, but I have my doubts that it won't crash.

As long as you have Imgburn, you may as well make a complete image and compare the sizes.

Agreed, there is a high chance your ISO is still missing some hidden files, which will make it crash when the emulator will ask for them

why people keep on making hard for them self... (sigh)

If you download the PS2 bios illegally, you are breaking the law. Courts around the world have ruled that businesses and individuals can be prosecuted for illegal downloading.
