hey, new member here Ill try and correct my wording a bit better.I just got metal gear for the ps4 and i wana figure out the whole story line so i already have metal gear backed up so i can play it on pcsx and now i got snake eater backed up on pcsx2, unfortunately it does not work properly.
Id like to say i had some difficulty giving the folder privileges even tho i was admin, but figured it out towards the end.

So now to more to the details.
When i select the game using the iso format and boot the game in full, the small window goes black and then crashes.
I tried using sync mgts in the gs config with no luck.

Basically if theres something i can do please let me know it would make life so much more fun.

I am using a mac book pr retina early mid 2012 model. performance is great, running lion osx.

When i first load pcsx2 this loads in the terminal :
Quote:Interface is initializing. Entering Pcsx2App:OhmynInit!
Applying operating system default language...
Command line parsing...
Command line parsed!
(UserMode) Found portable install ini @ pcsx2_portable.ini
(pxEvtQueueTongueauseCoreThread) Posting event! (pending=0, idle=0)
(pxEvtQueueTongueauseCoreThread) Executing... [Cancelable]

Right after the game crashes this is on the terminal:
Quote:....(pxEvtQueueTongueauseCoreThread) Executing... [Cancelable]
ZZogl-PG: Calling GSinit.
ZZogl-PG: GSinit finished.
ZZogl-PG: Calling GSopen.

ZZogl-PG: Initialization successful.
ZZogl-PG: Disabling MRT depth writing.
ZZogl-PG: You've manually enabled these hacks:
ZZogl-PG: 'No logz' hack enabled.

egmentation fault: 11
logout

I can only think of ""extension "XFree86-VidModeExtension" missing on display "/tmp/launch-zan5nb/org.macosforge.xquartz:0"."" witch i am unable to find much info regarding fixing for pcsx2.

If there is any info needed that might help please let me know, and thanks for any help.

1 - not sure this game is compatible with the mac port.
2 - those segfault errors usually come from a bad dump. How did you dump your iso ? command line ? disc utility ?
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070

I just select the iso from the cd/dvd window and on system tab i click boot(full). (crashes when loaded full)
If i boot (fast) it black screen stays there and seems like there are frames per second counting off, but there is no image or sound.

Is that a trick question? i burned it using a iso format, im not to technically inclined to describe the process witch i burned it.

I have tried 2 different iso images. if that helps at all.

Is there nothing i can adjust or double check in configurations?
Im not sure what i am to do to get the game to work.
Like i said 2 different images of the game did not load.

The process is simple : command line, or disc utility.
I was asking how you dif it, because it looks line you didnt do it well.
If you described precisely the process, maybe we could help.

Sorry but it was not as simple as there were errors that were unaccounted for, i guess it is because there are so many variations and system configurations, makes it difficult, on top of the pcsx2 was new newest and also in the alpha stages only.

I found a solution somewhat, hopefully i can be some help to other having similar or same problems.

I basically installed the older version that was 0.9.6 and it works fine.
Sound sound quality and video quality, but for the most part its playable.

If there are any technical issues that arise i will be sure to bring them up on here.
