Nicely emulated distortion and infrared effects from MGS2 and Resident Evil 4 ^^

Some more infrared, now from software in MGS2 Substance, and from hardware a Bullfrog game, Theme Park Rollercoaster Smile

You have to enter a map in Theme Park Roller Coaster using software mode, or it has trouble entering the game, but you can switch back to hardware mode once in game. But in both modes the game has slowdown once you make a small park, maybe because of the number of guests being drawn at once. Runs full speed more easily when you use first person mode though.

This is my favorite starting city in Everquest Online Adventures : Frontiers. This was an online game that required a server connection so it's not currently possible to play the game as it was, but using PCSX2 0.9.7 and a modified savestate that disables the need for the server connection, it is possible to run around the empty (HUGE) map. There is work going on to create an emulated server so hopefully someday this game will be fully playable again.

Here is Shadow of the Colossus at 3x native resolution with no EE or VU speedhacks. This is the second colossus and one of the few I don't have to set VU cycle stealing to 1.

Just got PCSX2 up and running on the new machine. FFXII is looking good to me.

Based Windows 10 and DX12 upgrades, even though there's no native DX12 plugin so far, the performance boost i'm seeing on my modest 5200u/internal GPU laptop is amazing. Same laptop that could barely get 80% performance at 2X native in windows 8.1 is getting ~150% ish when limiter is off at 2X native on Persona 4 now. Other games like FFXII run at full speed (with more compromises) now too. Also, I can't stress how good FXAA cleans up the image, especially dialogue boxes, at virtually no cost to performance.

I imagine the latest dev builds have a sizable hand in the boost too.

DX12 has no effect on anything. We don't even use it, so it couldn't possibly do a thing.

Well it's definitely SOMETHING that's giving me the extra boost, the only thing i've changed in this laptop between a few months ago is went from 8.1 to 10 and currently using one of the two-week-old GIT builds. Everything on the computer is still the same and i'm getting a lot faster speeds now.

Is it just the GIT builds then ? that's interesting.

It was never using your dedicated graphics card but your onboard GPU. This was probably it: https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/pull/767
