Problems running PCSX2

Hey there, im kinda new to this emulator stuff.

First problem i ran into was the GFX bugging out, like big fat stripes on the screen and stuff like that. I changed from Hardware to Software in GS settings, and that fixed it. Now though, my fps drops insanely low as soon as i get past menu screens in my games.

Im running PCSX2 0.9.8

Intel Core i5 2.80ghz
4gb ram
win xp 32bit
Geforce GTX 460

In order to help you further with your problem, please make sure the following are all provided.

• Any non default settings you are using.
  
• What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.

I use default settings besides the software mode. Ive been running LOTR The third age and GT3 off from ISO, GTAA and Black of DVD. all got same problems.

I found a wierd solution for it..

If i start the game in hardware mode.. press f9, to go to software, and f9 again back to hardware it fixes the problem. i know its a small thing to do, but gets anoying to do each time u start up/swap game.
