Q about fps and game speed
#1
I'm a little confused. When the fps drops below 60, the games go into slow motion. If the fps is at 30, the games play at half speed.
Is there a setting I can change so this won't happen?

In other PC games (like Crysis), fps doesn't affect gameplay speed. It only makes the video choppy. So far most games I have tried stay above 30fps, so the gameplay should be smooth and at 100% speed.

My rig:
Core2 duo 4300 @ 3.11ghz
4gb ram
ATI 4870x2
Windows 7 64 bit

Console games are designed to run at full speed all the time unlike PC games, its like a recoreded movie. If the fps drops it becomes slow motion.
you can enable frame skip in CPU options so that when it goes below 60fps it skips frames to maintain it. the lower it goes the choppier it becomes.

That's how emulation works. What you can try to do in order avoid it is simply turning ON some speedhacks or ticking "native" resolution on GSdx options to try to achieve full speed. BTW what game are you trying to play?

EDIT: Also grab latest beta and plugins...

This has been happening with Gran Turismo 3 and Yakuza 1 & 2. I'm going to try to frame skip. Thanks.

try to get speedhacks before using frameskip, you might be able to get full speed and not need frameskip
