those two games will work like a charm, even in software mode
there are users around here, that are able to play these games with a p4 dualcore
Intel 486 DX33 33Mhz
8MB EDO Ram S3 Graphics Trio64V+ Windows 95 Running MGS3 Snake Eater fully playable @ 0.05 fps 
I'd crap my pants if FFX didn't run well for ya. lol
FFX-2 should be cool, too, but the videos are a PITA.  (P4 dual core = not really a dual core)

im thinking about getting a bulldozer, too. but i wanna see some real benchmarks first. i'd love to get an amd again.

the 8-cores CPU is rated to be ~230$ it will be the same as I5 2500K not to mention the 6-cores and 4-cores ones !
