Ratchet And clank 1 problem

Change your hardware renderer from direct3d9 to direct3d11 instead.  also, enable "allow 8-bit textures".  Those settings might make it run faster..

It will be good for you to learn! Don't go nuts though, especially if you have the stock intel cooler.

Yeah i did not build my rig myself i had some help from a guy that knew what he was doing (hopefully) haha Laugh

Anyways i managed to overclock my CPU to 4.0GHZ but it seems like it did not fix the issue. Same places the frames are dropping crazy sadly. :/

I changed it to OpenGL but ill try direct11.
Let me try the 8-bit textures as well.

Thanks for your reply!

Update:
Tried direct11 and 8-bit textures, no luck.

Hmm, can you show us the rest of your settings? from the emulator settings section and your spu2 settings.

On the first screen of the game where you take control, I get 130fps uncapped, im running a 4690k @ 4.3Ghz and a GTX 980Ti (this should have little baring on things though).

Your EE seems to be pinned at 95+% though, which it shouldn't be that high unless that section of the game is particularly bad. For comparison, with the frame limited my EE is at 33%

How do you get 130 FPS?
Mine seems to have a max on 60.

Yours might max out at 60 because OGL takes your Nvidia drivers setting for VSync, if it's on in there, the emu will run with vsync on. I'll update this post if i have anything to add after checking your settings Smile

OK the first things that come to mind, change the clamping for the EE and VU's back to "Normal" there's no need for Extra on this game. You can also untick "Large Framebuffer" in GSDX.

In the GSDX hacks section, what do you have enabled? Have you tried enabling the "Fast Invalidation" hack in there? probably won't make much difference, but might help.

Other than that, your settings aren't greatly different from mine, unless you have any Gamefixes enabled, you didn't post a picture of that tab Smile

How can i turn off vsync?
Alright ill try to set EE and VU's to normal. Also i un-ticked large framebuffer.

I had nothing enabled in the GSDX hacks section, but ill enable Fast Invalidation.
And i'm sorry i forgot to post a picture of the gamefixes, but i have EE timing hack enabled there.

UPDATE:
Mhh... I disabled vertical sync in nvidia controll panel for PCSX2.
But i'm having 60 FPS in the main menu. It's really weird, i thought it was because PS2 games was limited 50-60 fps.

If you press f4 it should toggle the frame limiter, that might be restricting it

If you use openGL for Jak or Ratchet&Clank
* accurate blending => good shadow but big impact on perf
* no accurate blending => crappy shadow but faster

"basic" blending accuracy is pretty light on that game and looks good imo.

It depends on the "quantity" of triangles to draw the shadows. Nvidia supports it fine but others drivers are slower.
