Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal
#1
I'm trying to play Ratchet and Clank but the FPS sucks. I'm running it on software mode with EE Cyclerate at 2 and VU Cycle stealing at 1. I've enabled MTVU.
I have a Core i5 2550k and a GTX 580. The game is unplayable in software mode and barely playable in hardware mode.

Ratchet and Clank games are super demanding. VU cycle rate stealing won't help, so turn that off.

Set EE cycle rate hack to 3, leave MTVU on. Set extra rendering threads in GSdx config to 1 or 2.

This sucks. With the settings you said it runs better but it is still really bad.

^ On a four core? With MTVU enabled? Hmmm.

Maybe try no MTVU and 2-3 extra threads.

Ratchet and Clank 1 is faster using 3 threads on my i5 compared to using 2 or 1.

Is there anyway to make specific settings for specific games so I don't need to change it every time I want to play different games

You can use a frontend that supports per game configurations, like this one: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-PCSX2Bonu...r-frontend

Ty for all the help. I think I only have one more question. Is there any place that I can see optimized settings for games so I don't need to make posts like, "how to optimize ratchet and clank..."
