Recompiler Chache Reset?
#1
Howdy, I just started using PCSX2 today, and using it to play The Legend of Spyro The Eternal Night. I found the best settings are the following

     - VU0 - microVU Recompiler
     - VU1 - superVU Recompiler [legacy]
     - EE Cyclerate set to 1
     - VU Cycle Stealing set to 1
     - mVU Flag Hack - enabled
     - MTVU - enabled
     - GS - GSdx (Direct3D11 (Hardware)) - Allow 8-bit Textures - CRC Hack Level set to Partial - Shade Boost enabled
     - BIOS (USA v02.20(10/02/2006) Console
     - All other settings are left default

I get the smoothest gameplay with these settings. However, after around 10-15min of gameplay, PCSX2 crashes and the end of the log says something like, "recompiler cache reset"

Any ideas on what could be causing this or how to prevent it?

I am running the game off of an ISO file.

My PC Specs are,

     - Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
     - AMD A10-6800K 4.1Ghz CPU
     - A88X Chipset
     - 8gb RAM 1866Mhz
     - Nvidia GTX 950 SSC 2gb
     - Samsung 840 EVO 250gb SSD
     - Western Digital Caviar Blue 1tb HDD

Thanks in advance.

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

Here is the log file. After examining it myself, the only thing that stands out to me is the entry, "EE/iR5900-32 Recompiler Reset" Hope this helps.

we don't support old versions.
please unpdate at least to latest stable.

As a side note : this log isn't showing any error about Spyro, since you loaded NFS underground (NTSC) instead

Hang on, wrong file. For some reason that was the log for PCSX2 1.2.1. Let me find the right log file.

Here is the correct one, and for some odd reason, I need to switch between OpenGL (Hardware) and Direct3D11 (Hardware) Sometimes one works better than the other. Sometimes Direct3D11 (Hardware) causes a flashy screen, and a fast and consitant "stop, go" affect. So you will see entries on swapping GS modes.

Also the EE sits around +90% and sometimes peaks out at 100% depending on what I am looking at. My CPU's utilization though does not peak 60%

I fiddled around with PCSX2 again the other day, I changed the VUs back to the default setting "microVU" and decided to run the emulator with administrative privileges to see what would happen.

There was a significant boost in performance when PCSX2 is given administrative privileges. So much so that the game was running too fast. I had to return everything back to the default settings and go from there. There still is a few slow downs in some spots of the game, but they are minor.

Thanks for any help you guys gave me.

Have a nice day and a happy thanksgiving,
Lord_Snax
