I was curious if I select 5.1 surround sound if it will work correctly?

Oh sorry ^_^' I was reading another thread and people said the only surround you can get is through dolby pro logic II through stereo mode.

It's not real surround, just expansion of the stereo output (as the name suggests)

There's something experimental if you wanna test it, but that's about it.

On the INI, edit DplDecodingLevel to 0=none, 1=ProLogic, 2=ProLogicII. You gotta be using the 5.1 expansion mode too.

Dolby Pro Logic isn't true 5.1 Surround though, like Bosit said it adds extra channels and emulates the surround. Just like with my 2.1 Speaker Set I have, when I turn on TruSurround HD I do have the sound going from right to left or vice versa like u would have normally with surround sound, but that's only emulated or software-based, nevertheless emulation or not, it still sounds quite nice!!!

its true in the fact it has seperate audio streams mixed into side frequencies when the source is DPL encoded.
when not, it uses common frequencys to expand from stereo.
