SPU2 no sound at startup - Archlinux
#1
Hello,

I am having issues with sound.

I have interpolation at 1.
Output settings:
module: PortAudio
Api: JACK
Synchronization Mode: none.

This is the config that I have found out in order to have clear audio.
The problem is that when I start pcsx2 I get no sound at all.
I have to go to SPU2 config,  move PortAudio Api to ALSA. After doing this, sound activates but is not good. Afterwards, I move again Portaudio Api back to Jack in order to have a nice clear sound.

Anyone knows how to solve this?
I have alsa installed in computer.

Give me a light if you have a solution.

Thanks

Hello,

I tried SDL with no sound in any config under SDL.
I installed package SDL with pacman. did not have it installed before. Had to reboot the machine because lost the sound in every config.
After reboot, I am having the same problem I described in post #1.
I do not obtain any sound in SDL. only in PortAudio.

I have a minimal Arch install. Maybe I am missing a package?

lib32-sdl is also installed in machine. Sorry if I have not answered your question... Should I search for an specific package?

Thanks for helping.

Aaaah, I get the same problem with the recent update of alsa (1.0.29-2 -> 1.1.0-1) on Archlinux.
My .asoundrc was the culprit. My new config file solve the problem but I have still some problems with this version of alsa on Steam.

you likely miss the 32 bits pulse plugin

As Gregory say you should look if you have the lib32 installed.
On Archlinux I have :

Code:
[kustom@Geo-laptop pcsx2]$ pacman -Qs lib32-alsa
local/lib32-alsa-lib 1.1.0-1
An alternative implementation of Linux sound support (32 bit)
local/lib32-alsa-oss 1.0.28-1
    OSS compatibility library (32 bit)
local/lib32-alsa-plugins 1.1.0-1
    Extra alsa plugins (32-bit)

Concerning the .asoundrc file look here : https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/JAC..._with_ALSA
